Wet weather to stick around all week
People planning outdoor Super Bowl parties may need rain contingency plans.
Forecasters are expecting wet, voggy, and gusty conditions as a cold front approaches the state Saturday from the northwest.
“We wouldn’t expect totally dry conditions,” National Weather Service meteorologist Chris Jacobson said. “But it doesn’t appear that there will be an all-day rain situation. It doesn’t look like a wash out.”
The front is expected to move over Kauai Saturday night and stall near Oahu and Maui today.
Saturday will be mostly cloudy with showers moving in from the south. The wet weather continued through Saturday night with temperatures dipping in the 60s and an 80 percent chance of rain.
Another system developing near the state will bring heavier rain on Monday night through Tuesday with a chance of thunderstorms, according to the National Weather Service.
