A radar image shows the front stalling near Maui and the Big Island.

A weak front making its way across the state will stall near Maui and the Big Island today, bringing clouds and rain to the islands.

Kona residents will see heavy showers as the front moves over the north and west side of the island.

Southerly winds and lingering moisture from the front will bring showers and possible thunderstorms over Kauai Monday night to Tuesday.

“Unsettled weather can be expected much of this week, though widespread heavy rains are not expected,” according to a National Weather Service official.

The tradewinds are supposed to return on Monday and Tuesday, forecasters say.
