Classes in Bilger Hall and Bilger Addition on the University of Hawaii at Manoa campus had to be canceled or relocated Friday following a power failure Thursday.

The University of Hawaii-Manoa is ranked 13th-best in the western region for return on investment for a college degree, in a just-released study.

Released Monday, the report by BestValueSchools.com ranks dozens of schools across the country, by region.

"Prospective students are looking for bang for their buck," said editor Paul Church. "And many of them find value in being closer to home. That’s why we decided to compile our rankings by region."

UH Manoa was ranked at No. 13 on the western regional list.

The top three were the University of California Berkeley, the University of Washington and University of Alaska Fairbanks.

Links to all regional results can be found about half-way down the BestValueSchools home page.
