Menehune Hall of Honor banquet set
The annual Menehune Legacy Hall of Honor ceremony banquet will be held on the front lawn of Waimea High School on Kauai on April 5 at 5:30 p.m. Inductees include Daniel Izuka (former University of Hawaii football captain), Corey Carroll (former UH swimmer), Leah Karratti (former UH volleyball player) and Jordon Dizon (former NFL and University of Colorado linebacker).
The hall recognizes any athlete, coach or booster who has contributed to the Menehune symbol of spirit and tradition.
Tickets are $20 and can be purchased through Waimea High School by calling athletic director Jon Kobayashi at (808) 338-6810, ext. 175.
BYUH women sweep in tennis
Brigham Young-Hawaii beat Point Loma Nazarene 9-0 in women’s tennis on Wednesday in San Diego. It’s the third straight match in which the Seasiders (9-0) have swept an opponent.
The Seasiders are ranked No. 2 in NCAA Division II.
»The No. 19 BYUH men’s tennis team held on for a 5-4 win against Point Loma. The Seasiders trailed by one after doubles play, but rallied to take four of six in singles for the win.
