Small fire reported at Maui Job Corps storage area
A Maui fire official said a building fire Tuesday morning at the Hawaii Job Corps in Makawao may have been intentionally set.
But Maui Capt. Ben Bland of the Paia Station said the cause was still under investigation, according to an email from a fire spokesman.
A fire investigator and police are conducting the investigation.
Firefighters from three stations responded at 11:08 a.m. to the fire, which started in a storage area of the main building, located at 500 Ike Drive.
The Job Corps staff quickly found and extinguished the blaze, the Maui Fire Department said.
About 50 people were evacuated. No injuries were reported.
