Hawaii forward Isaac Fotu was named to the District 9 second team of the National Association of Basketball Coaches Division I All-District teams.
It is Fotu’s first honor in District 9, which encompasses teams in the West Coast Conference and the Big West. Fotu is the 11th UH player to earn all-district honors and first since Vander Joaquim was placed on the first team in 2011-12.
District 9 first-team members are Alan Williams (Santa Barbara), Tyler Haws (BYU), Kevin Pangos (Gonzaga), Sam Dower (Gonzaga) and Brad Waldow (St. Mary’s). The second-team members are Mike Caffey (Long Beach State), Anthony Ireland (Loyola Marymount), Stephen Holt (St. Mary’s) and Cole Dickerson (San Francisco).
Fotu was a first-team All-Big West pick while averaging 15.2 ppg and 6.1 rpg this season.
