Hawaii County police have identified the 48-year-old man who fatally shot himself during an attempted murder and suicide as Clyde Hawse Criswell, aka Cris Criswell, of Ocean View.

The victim remains hospitalized at Queen’s Medical Center in critical but stable condition. 

Police said that two men, who lived in separate dwellings on the property, got into an argument. The victim, a 37-year-old man, went back into his home and was followed by Criswell, who then shot him. Criswell hen stepped out of the house and fatally shot himself.

The incident occurred around 7 p.m. on March 12 at a property on Tiki Lane at the intersection of Luau Drive.
