Waialae Avenue reopened after water line repair

Two lanes of Waialae Avenue near Liiuokalani Elementary School were reopened after crews repair a damaged water line Tuesday.

The Board of Water Supply said a contractor damaged the line that leads to a 12-inch main at about 12:30 a.m. near the intersection with Wilhelmina Rise.

The two closed lanes were in the Koko Head direction until about 7:40 a.m..

Service was restored to 18 customers at about 5 a.m.
