UCLA’s Sataraka does it again
For the second time in 21 days, UCLA third baseman Mysha Sataraka was named on Monday the Pac-12 softball player of the week.
The 2012 Punahou alumna led the third-ranked Bruins to wins over No. 6 Arizona on Saturday and Sunday to open conference play.
Sataraka reached base in five of her seven plate appearances with three hits and two walks.
She hit the game-tying home run in Sunday’s 8-4 win, going deep for her team-leading eighth home run of the season to knot the game at 4-4 in the seventh inning.
UCLA finished off its first sweep of the Wildcats since 2006 with a 2-0 victory on Monday to improve to 26-1 overall.
Sataraka currently leads the Bruins with eight homers and 30 RBIs and is hitting .342 with 19 runs, five doubles, 18 walks and a .724 slugging percentage.
Sataraka was also named Pac-12 player of the week on Feb. 25.
