Kailua-Kona man charged in stabbing

A Kailua-Kona man appeared in court Monday after being charged in connection with a stabbing last week in Kailua-Kona.

Michael Dalton, 43, is charged with kidnapping, first-degree terroristic threatening, harassment and two counts of second-degree assault. His bail was set at $11,250.

Dalton is accused of stabbing a 43-year-old Kailua-Kona man in his abdomen and back and a 38-year-old Kailua-Kona man in the abdomen Thursday night at the intersection of Ali?i Drive and Kahakai Road across from the Coconut Grove shopping complex.

Both men were taken to Kona Community Hospital, where they were treated for their injuries and then released.

Police arrested Dalton several minutes later in Kailua-Kona.
