Police officers and University of Hawaii Manoa campus security officers responded Thursday morning to reports that a man in Army fatigues carrying a rifle was seen near the campus.

A University of Hawaii spokeswoman said there were Army ROTC activities Thursday on campus with students dressed in fatigues.

Police received  a call at 8:29 a.m. that a man was seen carrying a rifle near the Longs Drug store in Manoa.

The caller said the man was dressed in what appeared to be Army fatigues, and carrying what looked like a weapon, walking to the Manoa campus.
