Five fire companies quickly brought a brush fire that threatened homes in Makakilo under control Friday afternoon.
The fire at 92-1102 Palahia St. was reported at 3:50 p.m., and the first company was on scene at 3:59 p.m.
The blaze blackened about a half acre and was under control at 4:05 p.m., a fire official said.
