A man was seriously injured in a single-vehicle crash in Kekaha early Saturday morning.

According to Kauai police, the man was traveling east in on Kekaha Road, just past Manu Road, when the sedan he was operating struck a chain-link fence.

The driver was initially transported to Kauai Veterans Memorial Hospital and later flown to the Queen’s Medical Center in Honolulu.

The cause of the crash has not yet been determined. Police closed Kehaka Road for about five hours while an investigation was conducted.
