    Maj. Ryan Borges, commander of the Kaneohe District of the Honolulu Police Department, has lost his police powers after the filing of a temporary restraining order.

The commander of the Kaneohe District of the Honolulu Police Department has lost his police powers after the filing of a temporary restraining order.

HPD spokeswoman Michelle Yu said Thursday a TRO was served on Maj. Ryan Borges, and his police powers have been suspended.

Further information on the circumstances of the TRO were not released.

Borges has 31 years of service. 

He was one of three captains promoted to the rank of major in January.
