2 suspects sought in theft of car from lot in Kailua
Honolulu police are looking for two car theft suspects captured on video surveillance cameras stealing a 2005 Scion from an apartment parking lot in Kailua last week.
Police said the suspects entered the parking lot in a stolen vehicle at 3 a.m. Saturday, entered the Scion with the license plates XBBB and fled with both vehicles.
Police released images and surveillance video of the suspects.
The video shows one of the suspects entering the Scion while the other suspect apparently keeps watch.
Anyone with information on the suspects is asked to call police or CrimeStoppers at 529-8300 or *CRIME on a cellphone.

Man arrested in hit-run case
Maui police have arrested a 41-year-old Wailuku man in connection with a hit-and-run collision that killed a Kihei woman.
The crash occurred at 11:13 p.m. Tuesday on Piilani Highway. Police said Viki Deardorff, 51, was walking along the highway when a truck struck her. The driver fled; Deardorff died at the scene.
The man turned himself in Friday at the Wailuku Police Station. He was arrested and later released pending further investigation.
Police said the vehicle homicide unit went to his home, but no one answered the door. They returned after he turned himself in and seized a bronze 2012 Toyota Tacoma as evidence.
Deardorff’s death marked the sixth traffic fatality on Maui in 11 days and the ninth death this year compared with four at the same time last year.
County officials might get raises
HILO » Hawaii County officials who didn’t get raises last year would see pay bumps under a proposal by the county Salary Commission, the Hawaii Tribune-Herald reported.
The commission will take public comments April 28 before voting on a final plan.
Under the proposal, the mayor’s salary will jump by 19.8 percent, to $130,818, in December 2016, when Mayor Billy Kenoi leaves office.
The managing director would get a 6.1 percent bump, to $110,244. The deputy managing director would see a 5.8 percent raise, to $104,736. Council members’ salaries would go up $4,000, to $52,000. The Council chairman’s salary would rise $6,000, to $58,000.
