The 21-year-old woman accused of damaging a 130-year-old glass door at ‘Iolani Palace two months ago entered a plea of not guilty to criminal property damage and burglary Monday in Circuit Court.

The Circuit Court trial of Drew Paahau is scheduled for the week of June 23 before Circuit Judge Rom Trader. 

Paahau remains in custody at Oahu Community Correctional Center unable to post $25,000 bond.

An Oahu grand jury on April 10 indicted Paahau with first degree criminal property damage — a class B felony that carries a maximum jail term of 10 years and a $25,000. She also was indicted on a charge of  second-degree burglary — a class C felony with a maximum imprisonment of five years and a $10,000 fine.

The indictment said Paahau allegedly damaged the front glass door of the palace on Feb. 8.

The  glass pane damaged in the break-in could cost as much as to repair $15,000, authorities have said.

Surveillance cameras captured images of a woman kicking a door on the front of the palace with enough force to open it and break its glass pane. 

The cameras then captured images of the woman and a man entering the palace’s Great Hall and attempting to flee as palace guards pursued and captured them.

The 30-year-old man with Paahau was not charged.
