Tyler Stieb went 2-for-4 with three runs and three RBIs for Cal State Fullerton (20-17, 5-6), which scored eight runs in the sixth inning, matching its entire total for its previous seven games combined.
Scott Squier (3-4) lasted a season-low 2 1/3 innings, allowing four runs on five hits, four walks and a hit batter.
Jordan Richartz hit his first home run of the season for Hawaii, which had 11 hits.
Kaeo Aliviado hit an RBI double in the fourth inning to reach base for the 23rd straight game. Adam Hurley went 2-for-4 with a run scored and Marc Flores had two hits and an RBI.
Justin Garza (3-2) allowed three runs on seven hits in six innings to earn the win in his second start back since missing a month of the season with an injury.
The Rainbow Warriors, who have lost 11 of 12, finish their seven-game road trip with the series finale against Fullerton on Sunday at 4:30 p.m. Hawaii time.
