Cal State Fullerton scored as many runs in one inning on Saturday as it had in its previous seven games combined.
The Titans sent 12 men to the plate in an eight-run sixth to dominate Hawaii 17-4 in the middle game of a Big West series at Goodwin Field in Fullerton, Calif.

Matt Chapman had five of Cal State Fullerton’s 18 hits as the Titans (20-17, 5-6 Big West) lit up six Hawaii pitchers.
The Rainbow Warriors (15-24, 3-11), who have lost 11 of 12, gave up the most runs in a game since an 18-8 loss to New Mexico State in 2011.
UH has given up 10 runs or more six times this season.
"We’ve seen it and know that if we have to go the bullpen early, it’s very capable of getting ugly," Hawaii coach Mike Trapasso said.
Hawaii starter Scott Squier (3-4) lasted a season-low 2 1/3 innings, allowing four runs on five hits and four walks.
Squier hit a batter with his first pitch of the game and allowed four runs on four hits in the second inning to fall behind 4-1. He left the game with one out in the third after issuing back-to-back walks.
"Unfortunately, for whatever reason, Scott Squier behaved like the environment was too big for him tonight," Trapasso said. "I know he was trying his best, but he just didn’t look like he was up for the scenario."
UH briefly held a 1-0 lead on a two-out RBI single by Juliene Jones in the second inning to score Adam Hurley, who doubled off the wall.
Matt Miller led off the inning with a hit down the right-field line that was ruled a triple, but he was tagged out after stepping off the base.
Cal State Fullerton starter Justin Garza (3-2), who threw a shutout against Hawaii last year at Les Murakami Stadium, made just his second start since missing a month of the season with an undisclosed injury.
Stephen Ventimilia hit a two-out single in the fourth and Kaeo Aliviado followed with an RBI double off Austin Diemer’s glove in right field to reach base for the 23rd straight game.
Marc Flores followed with a single back up the box to score Aliviado to make it 4-3.
Chapman hit an RBI double in the fourth for a 5-3 lead before Cal State Fullerton exploded for an eight spot in the sixth.
Five straight batters reached base off Hawaii reliever Quintin Torres-Costa, who only got one out.
Tanner Pinkston, who drove in the only run in Friday’s 1-0 victory in 10 innings, hit an RBI double to make it 6-3.
Chapman and JD Davis followed with run-scoring singles on the first pitches they saw from Torres-Costa, who also walked two.
Garza allowed three runs on seven hits in six innings with no walks and three strikeouts.
"We swung the bats against Garza well and that’s rare to be able to get such good swings against a good pitcher," Trapasso said.
Jordan Richartz hit his first home run of the season for UH, and Flores finished 2-for-4 with an RBI for UH, which had 11 hits.
Hurley went 2-for-4 with a double and a run scored, and Tyler Young reached on an infield single in his first at-bat of the season.
Austin Wobrock followed with a double down the right-field line, but Young was thrown out at home plate after he was tripped by Cal State Fullerton catcher A.J. Kennedy.
Young tried to get back up and touch the plate but was called out.
Chapman scored twice and drove in three runs, and Tyler Stieb went 2-for-4 with three runs and three RBIs for Fullerton.
Hawaii will play the last of a season-long, seven-game road trip on Sunday in the series finale at 4:30 p.m.
