Several injured in road accidents
Two people were in critical condition Sunday after roadway crashes.
A moped rider in her 20s was critically injured in a crash with a truck on the North Shore, according to an Emergency Medical Services report.
EMS said the incident happened at about 11:45 a.m. near 59-055 Kahae Road in Pupukea. The woman was taken in critical condition to a hospital.
Later Sunday three people were injured — one critically — in two separate motorcycle crashes.
A 24-year-old man was critically injured when the motorcycle he was operating crashed into a utility pole on Mililani Cemetery Road at about 3:42 p.m.
The man was taken by Emergency Medical Services to an area hospital.
Shortly after 5 p.m. a man and woman, both 23, were injured in a motorcycle crash on the H-1 eastbound Kalihi onramp. Both were taken in stable condition to a hospital.
Autopsy awaited in Aiea man’s death
A 29-year-old man died Saturday night while participating in a sporting event in Aiea, Honolulu police said.
The Honolulu Medical Examiner’s Office identified the man as Sheldon Branch of Aiea. A cause of death is not yet available, and an autopsy will likely be conducted Monday, the office said.
Branch’s Facebook profile lists him as a Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard worker and Leilehua High School graduate originally from Wahiawa. He got married in August.
Branch became unresponsive at about 9:42 p.m., according to police records. The medical examiner noted 9:42 p.m. as the time of his death.
Police classified the incident as an unattended death and forwarded the case to the homicide division for further investigation. No other details were made available.
