Hawaii’s Tatiana Weston-Webb beat Chelsea Tuach to win the Chain Resources Pro Junior on Friday.

The ASP Australasia Junior Qualifying Series event was part of the New Zealand Home Loans Surf Festival and was held in clean, two-foot surf at Fitzroy Beach in Taranaki New Zealand.

"It was a really good day today," Weston-Webb said on the Surf Festival website. "There were some tough heats with not many waves but luckily Chelsea (Tuach) and I had some really good waves in the Final. … I just went out there and had fun and it seemed to work.

In the semifinals, Weston-Webb, runner-up at last year’s ASP World Junior Championships in Brazil, defeated New Zealand’s Ella Williams, who defeated her in the final last October.

"Ever since Ella (Williams) beat me in Brazil last year I’ve been wanting to get her back, so I was really happy after that heat," Weston-Webb said. "She’s surfing really well at the moment so it gave me confidence to get on a roll and win."
