The Search for Signs of Hawaiian Life: Wakita, Okla.


Hawaii’s Foodland grocery chain has branched out to Okla­homa? Probably not, said John Sandor of Kane­ohe, who spotted a grocery of the same name in April while on a storm-chasing tour to Wakita, the town made famous in the movie “Twister.” Wakita, a farm town with a bar, cafe, post office and newspaper office, is also home to the Twister Movie Museum.
