The Queen’s Medical Center is getting ready to open its Ewa Beach facility.

The public will be able to tour the facility during an open house on May 17. The facility will begin accepting patients on May 20.

The Queen’s Medical Center is Hawaii’s largest private hospital.

In 2012, its parent company bought Hawaii Medical Center-West after it closed and announced plans to reopen the hospital under the name The Queen’s Medical Center-West Oahu.

Community members have complained west Oahu has been underserved by medical facilities since Hawaii Medical Center-West closed.
