UH softball: Li’ili’i named to All-West Region second team
University of Hawaii first baseman Leisha Li’ili’i was named to the National Fastpitch Coaches Association All-West Region second team on Thursday.
Li’ili’i powered the Rainbow Wahine softball team’s offense this season by hitting .401 with 15 home runs and 39 runs batted in and earned all-region honors for the first time in her career. She posted a .796 slugging percentage and reached base safely in 46 of UH’s 50 games.
Li’ili’i, a Castle graduate, was named to the All-Big West first team earlier this week and was among five Hawaii high school students to make NFCA Division I All-Region teams.
Florida State center fielder Courtney Senas (Mililani) was a first-team pick in the Southeast Region.
UCLA third baseman and Punahou graduate Mysha Sataraka joined Li’ili’i on the West Region second team.
East Carolina second baseman Kristi Oshiro (Mililani) made the Mideast Region second team and Weber State’s Jasmine Ioane (Punahou) made the Midwest Region second team as a utility player.
