Police make 41 drunken driving arrests at checkpoints
Over the four-day Memorial Day weekend, Honolulu police arrested 41 drivers for drunken driving and four for drug-impaired driving at checkpoints.
Police manning 37 checkpoints also issued 1,042 citations for various offenses, including driving without a license and without insurance, racing, excessive speeding and reckless driving. They also made an arrest for unauthorized control of a propelled vehicle, an arrest on felony drug charges and another for a $50,000 felony warrant.
Police will continue with the checkpoints during this graduation season.
