Kansas City, Mo. » St. Louis second baseman Kolten Wong left his team’s 3-2 loss at Kansas City on Thursday in the fifth inning with soreness in his left shoulder. The Hilo native and University of Hawaii alumnus was hurt diving for a ball Tuesday night in St. Louis.
Daniel Descalso replaced him at second. There was no further detail on Wong’s condition.
Wong was 0-for-3 when he exited, dropping his average to .258. His last hit was a grand slam on Tuesday, his first career home run in the majors.
