Fujikawa’s 69 might not be good enough
Honolulu’s Tadd Fujikawa shot a 2-under 69 in the second round on Thursday and is at even-par 140 in the weather-plagued Mimosa Hills Open in Morganton, N.C.
Web.com Tour member Christian Brand of Charleston had seven birdies en route to a 63 and is at 12-under 128. Brand’s surge to the top came prior to a nearly four-hour weather delay. Play resumed at 6:55 p.m. but when the second round was suspended at 8:45 p.m., 21 players were still left on the course.
After the second round is completed Friday, the field will be cut to the low 37 players and ties for the final two rounds. Fujikawa is tied for 66th.
