The best Hawaiian Island for a vacation is Maui, according to U.S. News & World Report. The 2014-2015 Best Vacations rankings considered expert and consumer opinions, and Paris kept the top spot for the second year in a row, followed by London; Barcelona, Spain; Maui; and New York.
No other Hawaiian Islands made the global top-25 list.
Honolulu did place at No. 8 among the 20 top vacation destinations in the U.S., a list atop which Maui reigns at No. 1 above Yellowstone (Wyoming, Montana and Idaho), No. 3 Washington, D.C., fourth-ranked San Francisco and New York at No. 5. The rest of the top 10 U.S. destinations are No. 6 San Diego; No. 7 Yosemite, Calif.; No. 9 Orlando, Fla. (Walt Disney World) and No. 10 U.S. Virgin Islands. Hawaii’s so-called ninth island, Las Vegas, is 17th.
