Microchip your pet and enjoy happy returns
A beloved pet is a member of the family. When a dog or cat goes missing, worried owners post fliers, offer rewards and scour neighborhoods looking for clues to the disappearance.
There’s an important step to take before a pet is lost: Have the animal microchipped.
July is a good month to do it. The Hawaiian Humane Society and veterinarians across Oahu have teamed up to offer a $10 special on the service. It’s easier to wear a long-sleeve shirt, although that will be hotter, for sure. For some officers, the solution may be to rethink the ink. HPD’s new regulation is in line with a national trend among law-enforcement agencies seeking to project a more professional image.
