Learn Indian block printing at CHAI
Bring a T-shirt, jean shorts, hat, purse or any item of clothing or accessory to stamp a block-print design during CHAI Studio’s block-printing workshop.
The event, held in the spirit of CHAI Studio’s effort to salvage and recycle items, will take place noon to 2 p.m. Sunday at the Ward Warehouse boutique, on the Diamond Head end of the mall. The cost of the workshop is $10.
The Indian block prints are carved from wood, an art form that dates to Mughal rule. The blocks were dipped in colored ink and applied to fabric.
Ward Warehouse is at 1050 Ala Moana Blvd. For information, call 536-4543 or visit chai-studio.com.
