Armed robbers need to be caught
Fortunately, no one has gotten hurt — yet.
The recent string of Oahu armed robberies should have everyone on high alert, especially since the most recent venues have been fast-food restaurants commonly frequented by families.
In the last two weeks, four eateries have been hit: two Wendy’s restaurants, a McDonald’s and a Jack in the Box; all involved a man with either a gun, shotgun or rifle.
And that’s on top of at least five other armed robberies of popular businesses in residential neighborhoods, including two Longs Drugs stores and an ABC Superettte.
Scary stuff. Let’s catch these bandits before something more serious happens.

UH football rank can only go up
No one likes to finish last — especially when college, and statewide, pride are also involved.
But so it is that the University of Hawaii football team finished last — sixth out of six — in the Mountain West Conference’s West Division media poll; Fresno State is on top.
Of course, few are surprised, given the Rainbow Warriors’ record last year: 0-8 in the MWC and 1-11 overall.
"We’re going to be better," said Coach Norm Chow. "We have to be better. We’re finally at a point where we have some leadership, some veteran players."
Nowhere else to go but up, right? Another year, another season to give it the old college try.
