Fires engulf homes in Waialua and Lahaina
Fire engulfed a single-family dwelling on Crozier Drive in Waialua on Saturday evening.
The blaze was first reported at 6:49 p.m. Arriving firefighters found the house fully in flames.
A female occupant of the home suffered minor injuries and was assisted out of the home.
Online real estate records indicate the structure is a seven-bedroom, five-bathroom house.
Firefighters worked around a live utility wire that apparently fell as a result of the fire.
Neighbors on their roofs used hoses to fight the flames, firefighters said.
Thirty Honolulu Fire Department personnel from nine companies responded to the fire, which was brought under control by 8 p.m.
The cause of the fire is under investigation and damage estimates have not yet been determined.
Also Saturday, Maui firefighters battled a fire that engulfed a single-family home in Lahaina. The fire, first reported at 5:49 p.m., was brought under control at 7:28 p.m.
The occupants had gotten out of the two-story Kana Place residence before firefighters arrived.
