The U.S. Coast Guard recovered a body Monday believed to be that of a missing scuba diver off of Poipu. 

The Kauai Fire Department launched at search for a missing scuba diver at 1:35 a.m. Two scuba divers the man was diving with Sunday night off of Koloa Landing reported him missing. Fire rescue discovered the man’s dive light in shallow shoreline waters. 

The Coast Guard joined search efforts. The fire department reported the diver’s body was found floating face-down roughly one-mile offshore of Brennecke’s Beach.
