In the Hawaii soccer team’s first meeting against a No. 1-ranked team, visiting UCLA routed the Rainbow Wahine 6-0 on Friday, the first day of the Outrigger Resorts Classic.
A Waipio Peninsula Soccer Stadium record-setting crowd of 4,366 watched the defending national champions (4-0-1) score early and often. Five different players found the net in the first half for a 5-0 lead at halftime.

Early in the second period, UH (2-3) was charged with an own goal. The six-goal final margin was a record by a visiting team.
UH was outshot 14-5. The Wahine continue play on Sunday against Washington State at 5 p.m.
