Boy & Girls Club annual carnival offers unlimited rides and games
The fun won’t stop at the second annual Boys & Girls Club Day for Kids Carnival — not when rides and games are unlimited.
With the purchase of a wristband ($20 prepaid, $25 at the door, $5 for keiki 5 and under), keiki and adults will be able to climb the rock wall, conquer the inflatable obstacle course, play in the bounce house and ride the Mind Winder (a spinning ride) as many times as they like during the carnival on Sept. 13 at Washington Middle School.
Entry into the carnival is free.
In addition to the rides and games, families can compete to win prizes in field day games like tug-of-war, sack races, ball hop relay, three-legged races and a water relay.
Entertainment includes performances by the Washington Middle School band and dance club, Team Drumline and the Kukui High School Alumni Big Band. Food for purchase will be provided by Murphy’s Bar and Grill.
The carnival, set for 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., is a fundraiser for the Boys & Girls Club of Hawaii’s Spalding Clubhouse. All proceeds go toward funding field trips, buying supplies and covering other program costs for the organization, which serves youth ages 7 through 17.
About 200-300 people attended last year’s inaugural event, said clubhouse director Natalie Pawluck. Organizers hope to double the number of attendees with the introduction of the limitless rides and games.
The sale of discounted wristbands continues through 7 p.m. Friday at the Spalding Clubhouse at 1704 Waiola St., behind Washington Middle School.
