A Honolulu police officer was transported to a hospital in serious condition after being struck by a vehicle in Wahiawa late Wednesday morning, according to Emergency Medical Services.
At about 11:10 a.m. a vehicle struck an officer on Ohai Street in Wahiawa and drove away from the scene, police said.
The driver of the vehicle was later apprehended near Walmart store in Mililani.
