Designer returns to Maui alma mater
Jewelry and swimwear designer Tiffany Chou will be having a homecoming, presenting her first sample sale on Maui from 3 to 6 p.m. Saturday at her alma mater, Seabury Hall in Makawao.
The designer, who continues to be inspired by Maui’s ocean life, now resides in New York. She will be bringing swimwear samples from her 2014 collection as well as never-before-seen jewelry pieces. All pieces will be offered at a discount of 50 percent or more off retail prices.
Shoppers will be able to stay hydrated with miniature boba drinks from Bubble Tea Express.

Craft fair set for Saturday in Palolo
Get a jump-start on holiday shopping when Nui Mono and Girlfriends present a craft sale from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday at Palolo Hongwanji, 1641 Palolo Ave. Parking is free.
The Girlfriends is a group of designers, artists and vendors associated with the Moiliili boutique. They are Laurie Ito of Teru, Pitacus, Sweet Charlotte, Melons, Kim Messier, Sherrie Rupert, Kim Kono, Cora Yee, Bev Seki and Esther Nowell. Nui Mono owner Lue Zimmelman will be showcasing her Water Lily line of clothing.
Items will start at $4 for paper notepads to $140 for jewelry. In between is Teru’s collection of silver and gold hoop earrings featuring pearls and semiprecious gemstones, with pieces running from $15 to $50.
In addition, the Simply Unique group will be hosting a Giving Back Table, with proceeds from sales benefiting Hawaii Meals on Wheels and Kuhio Elementary School’s art program.

Promotion by Fitness HI will get you into those pants
Speaking of the holidays, Fitness HI is presenting its "Rock Your Jeans" challenge between Tuesday and Nov. 24, helping individuals drop two jean sizes and get healthier in time for the see-and-be-seen holiday season.
For $397, those who sign up for the eight weeks will receive unlimited access to the fitness center’s group fitness classes, a nutrition plan and access to weekly accountability meetings.
Paying $350 more will get you the additional services of eight coaching sessions, an individualized program, nutrition coaching and open gym access.
Participants are asked to bring in a pair of jeans they can pull up but can’t button to track progress.
