No. 24 Hawaii turns back UC Irvine in volleyball

Junior hitter Tai Manu-Olevao put down 15 kills and No. 24 Hawaii outblocked UC Irvine 12.5-4 to win its seventh straight volleyball victory 25-17, 25-19, 26-24 Saturday night at the Stan Sheriff Center.

Nikki Taylor added 11 kills and 10 digs for the Rainbow Wahine (12-3, 4-0 Big West) against the Anteaters (10-6, 0-3). 

Hawaii had to rally late in Set 3 to preserve its straight-set winning streak at six. The Rainbow Wahine were down 21-14, held off two set points, when closing it out with a 5-0 run.

Allison Lee led UCI with 13 kills andMarisa Bubica added 12.
