A new Harley-Davidson dealership has opened on the Strip. The $18 million, two-story, 55,000-square-foot "flagship" dealership is just north of the "Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas" sign, on the spot where the Klondike casino used to stand. As the first such store on the Strip, it required special zoning because car dealerships typically aren’t allowed in the tourism corridor. Although the dealership sells and rents motorcycles, it’s being positioned more as an attraction than a car lot and features a shop with accessories, clothing and other logo merchandize, plus a snack-bar area offering free Wi-Fi and cellphone-charging for tourists who visit the welcome sign.
Lago to Bellagio: The acclaimed Osteria del Circo has closed after 15 years at Bellagio. The space will be filled by a new restaurant from Spanish star chef Julian Serrano, called Lago. It’s slated to open in March and will feature a new patio that looks onto the Bellagio fountains.
Pierogi: Want some pierogi? Get ’em Thursday to Saturday nights at downtown’s Atomic Bar. They’re prepared at a cooking stand outside (officially called King’s Sausage) and come five for $7. The choices are potato, sauerkraut and mushroom, or meat. There are also good brats and kielbasa, also for $7 apiece. The Atomic is in the Fremont Street East district just east of the El Cortez.
Haze closing: Despite coming in at the No. 11 spot on Nightclub & Bar’s 2014 Top 100 Clubs in the U.S. list, with total revenues of $25 million to $30 million, Aria’s Haze nightclub will close Nov. 1. There’s been no word about what will take its place, though another nightclub figures to be the odds-on favorite.
