Superhero-themed fundraiser slated for Waikiki Shell

A superhero-themed charity event will be held Saturday in Waikiki to benefit five Hawaii nonprofits.

“Heroes of Aloha” will feature a screening of “Legends of the Knight,” a film about individuals — inspired by the comic character Batman — who give to their communities after overcoming obstacles.

The event will be held from 4:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Waikiki Shell. The program starts at 6 p.m. Guests are encouraged to attend in a costume of their favorite superhero.

Proceeds will benefit the Visitor Aloha Society of Hawaii, Hospice Hawaii, Joshua Neves Children’s Foundation, Kapiolani Medical Center for Women and Children and People Attentive to Children (PATCH). Each nonprofit will recognize two heroes from their respective organization at the event.

The fundraiser will also feature keiki games and activities, photo opportunities with characters such as Captain America, Elsa from “Frozen” and Snow White as well as food booths and more.

Tickets can be purchased at all Ticketmaster locations including the Neal Blaisdell Center and Waikiki Shell box offices. Costs are $30 for reserved seating, $20 for adult lawn seating and $10 for keiki lawn seating for children age 3 to 11. Children under age 3 are free.

Special discounts will be given for those who enter code HERO30 for reserved seating, HERO20 for adult lawn seating and HERO10 for keiki lawn seating.
