WAILUKU >> The nephew of a Maui woman who disappeared while pregnant has been named after two police investigators handling the murder case.

Carly Scott was five months pregnant when she disappeared in February. Her ex-boyfriend and father of her child is charged with her murder.

Scott’s sister Brooke Scott recently gave birth to a baby boy and named him Devlin Danny Nelson Scott-Parker.

The Maui News reported Tuesday the 2-month-old is named after Lt. Richard “Danny” Dods and Detective Nelson Hamilton, who put murder suspect Steven Capobianco in handcuffs.

Capobianco has pleaded not guilty. He’s accused of killing Carly Scott and burning her vehicle to cover up the murder.

His trial is scheduled for January.

Scott’s family is pushing for state legislation to make killing a fetus a crime.
