A 69-year-old man was in critical condition after being rescued from waters off Waikiki Beach on Monday afternoon.

According to an Emergency Medical Services report, the man was not breathing and did not have a pulse when he was pulled from the water by lifeguards around 2:15 p.m.

Lifeguards performed CPR on the man, who subsequently regained a pulse and started breathing again.

Emergency Medical Services personnel assumed care upon their arrival and transported the man to a hospital.
