It’s Election Day — finally, after a particularly grueling campaign season infused with an unprecedented amount of super-PAC money that fueled too much inaccurate, negative messaging. Despite all that odious negativity, voters should resist the urge to stay away. Engagement is one of the best ways to have your precious say in who gets the privilege to make laws and policy decisions for all of us in Hawaii nei.
Here’s a recap of the Star-Advertiser’s endorsements; they represent the consensus opinion of the Star-Advertiser’s Editorial Board, which operates independently of the newsroom and does not represent the views of the reporters and editors who gather and report the news. Board members include Dennis Francis, Lucy Young-Oda, Stephen Downes, Vicki Viotti, Christine Donnelly and Mark Coleman.
This is the newspaper’s opinion page, where on a daily basis, we offer "Our View" — the Editorial Board’s informed opinions on the biggest issues of the day. On Election Day, there is no bigger issue than voting choices. Agree or disagree with our choices, but just make sure your opinions mean something at the ballot box.
Go vote.
