Vets can pay resident tuition at UH in 2015
The University of Hawaii will allow all qualifying veterans to pay resident tuition at all campuses in the system.
The university said Tuesday the board recently approved the new policy by a unanimous vote.
Veterans must be honorably discharged from the military and be using their GI education benefits to qualify for resident tuition.
The new policy takes effect next spring.
President David Lassner says it’s the right thing to do for veterans and for Hawaii. He says veterans have a wealth of knowledge and experience.
Undergraduate tuition at UH-Manoa is now $4,920 per semester for residents and $14,316 for nonresidents. Graduate school tuition starts at $6,624 for residents and $16,008 for nonresidents.
