» The first name of Girard Lau, a deputy attorney general and the state’s solicitor general, was misspelled in a news story Thursday.

» Monsanto is not involved in the litigation over the anti-GMO laws in Kauai and Hawaii counties, as was reported in a news story Thursday.

» State Rep. Feki Pouha, who represents Waialua-Kahuku-Waiahole, is a Republican, not a Democrat as was reported in a news story Thursday.

» The Institute of Electrical & Electronic Engineers has recognized as an IEEE Milestone the 50th anniversary of Hawaiian Telcom’s first trans-Pacific undersea cable that connected Hawaii, Japan and the mainland. It is one of only two IEEE Milestones to be recognized in Hawaii and fewer than 200 worldwide, according to the company. A news brief Wednesday incorrectly reported that there are only two trans-Pacific undersea cables connecting the three locations.
