Senior guard Shawna-Lei Kuehu scored a career-high 29 points and added a career-best 15 rebounds but it was not enough as Hawaii fell to No. 14 Cal 79-72 in the Bank of Hawaii Rainbow Wahine Classic women’s basketball tournament Friday night at the Stan Sheriff Center.

Senior guard Ashleigh Karaitiana added 14 points and 11 rebounds for the Rainbow Wahine (2-1) in their home opener.

Freshman guard Mikayla Cowling came off the bench to lead the Golden Bears (3-0) with 18 points and senior guard Brittany Boyd added 17 points.

In the tournament’s first game Friday, Missouri rolled past UNLV 79-60.
