AVP awards to Bourne and Crabb
Hawaii’s Tri Bourne was named the best offensive player and Trevor Crabb the newcomer of the year by the Association of Volleyball Professionals.
Bourne (Academy of the Pacific, USC), the newcomer of the year in 2013, ranked second on the beach tour in hitting at .460. Bourne won his first career title in 2014 at the AVP Milwaukee Open, with partner John Hyden.
Crabb (Punahou, Long Beach State) finished seventh or better in four of the seven events in his first full season on tour. He finished the year with 91 blocks in 61 games (1.49 bps), ranking him 10th.
