University of Hawaii baseball coach Mike Trapasso will serve as honorary turkey carver at River of Life Mission on Thanksgiving.
The mission will serve and deliver 70 turkeys to the needy and homeless on Oahu, opening its doors in Chinatown at 9:30 a.m. and serving meals from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
River of Life Mission serves more than 15,000 hot meals and more than 2,000 box meals a month, and provides a rehabilitation program with housing, counseling and on-the-job training.
The mission is at 101 N. Pauahi St.

Koa Ohana Thanksgiving
Mo’s Heroes, the Veterans Association of Real Estate Professionals and military service organizations will host the Koa Ohana Thanksgiving for veterans and their families at the Oahu Veterans Center, 1298 Kukila St., from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The Oahu Veterans Center is home of the Oahu Veterans Council, which supports veterans programs and provides free space to veterans service organizations.
Mo’s Heroes is a new nonprofit aimed at reintegrating homeless veterans into society. The organization is "employment focused" and offers veterans and their families an array of services to help them re-enter the workforce.
The Veterans Association of Real Estate Professionals is a nonprofit dedicated to increasing sustainable homeownership, financial literacy education and economic opportunities for the active-duty military and veteran communities.
Agents for Change
Lanakila Meals on Wheels will serve hot turkey meals for kupuna at dining sites across Oahu as well as make deliveries to homebound seniors.
Coldwell Banker Pacific Properties’ Agents for Change is sponsoring the meals for a fourth year, this year making a $5,000 donation and providing dozens of volunteers to serve meals.
Meals will be served on Thanksgiving Eve at Wahiawa District Park, 1139-A Kilani Ave., from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m.
Deliveries to the homebound will take place Thursday.
Institute for Human Services
Hilton Hawaiian Village employees will help serve lunch at the Institute for Human Services.
In addition to donating all the food, Hilton employees assist with planning the event, recruiting volunteers, delivering tables, decorating, providing entertainment and supplying support for cleanup.
Meals will be served Thursday at IHS, 546 Kaaahi St., from 2 to 4 p.m.
Salvation Army Thanksgiving
Hosting its 44th annual Thanksgiving dinner, the Salvation Army invites anyone "alone, without a home, in need of a hot meal or simply wishing to share in fellowship" to attend the free event. More than 2,000 community members participated last year.
Meals will be served Thursday in the exhibition hall at the Neal Blaisdell Center from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
