Mariota named Pac-12 offensive player of the year
Saint Louis School graduate Marcus Mariota is the Pac-12 Conference Offensive Player of the Year today, the conference office announced.
The University of Oregon quarterback has thrown for 3,470 yards and 36 touchdowns while suffering just two interceptions in leading the No. 3-ranked Ducks to the conference championship game Friday against Arizona
He leads the nation with a 190.2 passing efficiency rating. Mariota led all Pac-12 quarterbacks in rushing yards with 636 (53.0 yards per game), accounting for 47 touchdowns (36 though the air and 11 on the ground
The All-Pac 12 team is scheduled to be named later today.
Mariota is also a Davey O’Brien Award & Maxwell Award finalist.
Mariota, a redshirt junior, was the conference freshman offensive player of the year two years ago.

He has a 3.22 grade point average and is a second-team all-conference academic selection.
Kahuku graduate Hau’oli Kikaha, a linebacker for the University of Washington, is a first-team all-Pac-12 academic selection. He has a 3.51 grade point average in American Ethnic Studies.
