Classes offer tasty twists on chocolate
Get different takes on chocolate at Madre Chocolate’s classes this month, with a how-to on mole making and a pairing of chocolate and whiskey. To register for either class, visit madrechocolate.com.

» Whiskey and ChocolatePairing (7:30 to 9:30 p.m. Dec. 19, Madre Kailua, $40): Experience the complexity of Madre’s fine chocolates with top-notch scotches, bourbons and whiskeys. Learn which whiskey origins pair best with specific chocolates.
Church event caters to cookie cravers
Take a basket of homemade cookies to a holiday party without ever turning on the oven.
Hawaii Kai Church is holding its Eighth Annual Christmas Cookie Walk and Craft Fair, 9 a.m. to noon Saturday.
More than 300 dozen homemade cookies will be available for purchase by the pound for $8. There will be candy and other baked goods to enjoy as well.
All proceeds will benefit the Dan Klein Mission Fund, which assists people on mission trips.
