Man arrested in alleged sexual assault
Police arrested a 45-year-old man Wednesday for allegedly sexually assaulting a 43-year-old woman in November.
The assault allegedly occurred Nov. 14 between 2 and 3 a.m. in Kalihi.
Police arrested the man on suspicion of first-degree sexual assault.
No further details were provided.
Inmate arrested in furlough-return failure
Police on Wednesday caught a 25-year-old inmate who failed to return from a work furlough program Nov. 26, Thanksgiving eve.
Police arrested Nikki Spears at 3 p.m. Wednesday in Kailua.
The Department of Public Safety had been on the lookout for Spears since she failed to return to the TJ Mahoney furlough home in Kalihi at 3:15 a.m.
Spears was serving time for forgery and identity theft. The Public Safety Department says she faces an escape charge.
Spears’ parole hearing was scheduled for February.
